WERKSTAETTEN FUER EXPERIMENTELLE KUNST
Experimental Art Labs
(#2)
-- mission statement --
* ExperimentAL is an independent and strictly anti-profit enterprise, which is dedicated to what can be briefly summarized as THE RESISTANCE OF THE SPIRIT (#1). ExperimentAL Art isn't anything you'll see in a museum. It is, however, closely related to what used to be called Opus Magna, the Great Work, and also Magick, the Art of Life. The Method is science at its best: the Art of Experiment. But - unlike science, which has decayed to merely investigating how a few certain things work - ExAL, like everyone else on the Path (#6) also keeps asking which things to explore, and why, and what for. * Experimental working hypothesis: - No Work can be called Great, if it does not encompass a fair share of the bodhisattvas'(#3) job, which is to liberate oneself and assist in the liberation of all sentient beings; to Increase Intelligence, in other words (#5) * Experimental Means to achieve this goal consist - generally - mainly in raising awareness through seeking and transmitting knowledge, in whatever form appropriate, the triggering of certain experiences, and a good part of not-doing (#4). this includes, but is not limited to: * teaching * project McCopies & D.Stribute (#7) (a nice collection of very diverse records, tapes, cds, dvds, videos, books, pictures, and files - which nearly all have some mind- expanding qualities, and which are gladly made available to interested people -- here's the beginning of an index of my media-collection and my contributions to u-tube * project Tibetan Mint (1980-1990, into growing, genetics, chemistry & folk-medicinal use of the famed Tibetan Mint, still the most powerful remedy known against stress and aggressiveness) * project Teonanacatl, Vienna, 1982-1992 * project Teonanacatl Astoria Ossip, worldwide, 1995-1999 * participation in and co-organisation of various ceremonies and TaroT-seminars (1984-) * dadataoistic performances for amuse-, amaze- & enlightenment (#8) * and, last but not least, support of others with compatible goals, among these: (all non-profit, of course) - AI, AiN, ATTAC, BIEN, CBG, DRC, ETHECON, ... WWF, ZeitVerzögerer - local cultural and youth-organisations - local 'environmental' orgs. - 'Indian' & 'Tibetan' support groups - The Church of the Tree of Life - The Peyote Way Church - M.A.P.S., DRCNet, Prof. Julian Heicklen's Freedom Fight, .. (#1) film by Clemens Kuby, 1992: "Tibet - Widerstand des Geistes" (#2) Art LabS (plural) 'cause a) my art lab is highly mobile and would go whereever i put my sleeping bag, and b) McC&D! Compare also A. Crowley, liber AL vel legis, e.v. 1904 (#3) ... still looking for a good reference ! (#4) compare: LaoTsu TaoTeChing, ChuangTsu (#5) Tim Leary's, of course (#6) compare Sufi teachings, e.g. Idries Shah's enlightening books (#7) name copied from the internet (#8) one of the smallest of which consists in simply refusing to accept small change (currently smaller than 10c) - a microscopic thing, which, nevertheless does tend to amaze people - just try it!
